The Greenskeeper 2 is the ultimate reel mower for backyard putting greens, baseball infields, tennis courts, cricket courts, croquet fields, estate properties, and other areas which require a low cut with precision.
The Greenskeeper 2 includes a grooved front roller - the preferred upgrade for high-end turf. It acts as a leveler, ensuring the reel stays at a consistent height even if the soil is uneven, and limits scalping. Grooves lift the grass between them so the reel can slice it cleanly, delivering a precise cut and professional stripes.
The Greenskeeper 2's frame has a lowered rear axle position and a unique-to-this-model micro-adjustment system in front. These features allow for a precision cut as low as 1/8", while also maintaining the ability to height-adjust up to 2-1/8" for seasonal transitions - higher than any other McLane mower. This system permits height changes in very small increments for perfect precision.
Unlike the Classic and Low-Cut Series, the Greenskeeper 2 incorporates an upgraded bedknife. This is a critical component in delivering an ultra low-cut.
In the Greenskeeper 2 configuration, the 10-blade reel shines with ultra low grass. If you are keeping your lawn in the 1/8" to 3/4" range this is a crucial upgrade. A 10-blade reel hits the grass 42% more often than a 7-blade reel at the same ground speed - delivering a higher clip rate. This prevents "washboarding" - ripples a 7-blade reel can leave at very low heights. Because of the more frequent cutting, you can also walk slightly faster without sacrificing the quality of the cut.
The Greenskeeper 2 has several widths and engine options available. Both the Briggs & Stratton ("B&S") and Honda engines are commercial engines which cannot be found on equipment in big-box retailers. The B&S engines are more economical, and can be easier to work on, but are louder and vibrate more than the Honda engines. The Honda engines carry a premium price, but deliver better starting, lower noise, and longer life.
